BPC-157

BPC-157 (“Body Protection Compound”) is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in human gastric juice, and it’s one of the most discussed peptides in the recovery and injury-repair space.

What it’s studied for

Most research interest centers on tissue repair — tendons, ligaments, muscle, and gut lining — and its potential anti-inflammatory effects. This is exactly why it comes up so often in conversations about recovering from the kind of joint and connective tissue injuries that accumulate over decades of activity.

Research status

The evidence base is largely preclinical — animal studies and lab research — with limited human trial data so far. That doesn’t mean it’s ineffective, but it does mean the confidence level is lower than for well-established, heavily human-trialed compounds.

Where this fits

If you’re dealing with a nagging tendon or joint issue, this is the kind of compound that comes up in that conversation — but it’s a conversation to have with a licensed provider, not a decision to make from a blog post.
